Serade is a tool that can be used by software developers, website system administrators, designers, and anyone else that needs an program that can help them deal with repetitive text related to generating text based files.

Serade can be used to generate anything that is at its core text. This includes applications written in most programming languages like C/C++, Java, JavaScript, Miva script, Perl, PHP, etc.; And pages written in all the standard web markup languages, like HTML, XML, VRML, VML, etc.; and can be used to create UNIX .htaccess or passwd files, application configuration files, plain text data files, SQL query files, and much more.

Serade functions by applying data to templates in such a way that the as much of the repetitive tasks of development can be accomplish automatically by the system thus dramatically reducing the time of development, increasing the over-all quality, and improving the ability to improve and revise existing end products.

At the core Serade is in essence a very simple yet powerful programming language itself, but one that takes a very different approach to programming than other languages. Serade template files can contain both the data and the design templates for a single, or multiple output files, and can themselves use only the information in the single template file or can call upon as many additional template files as needed to accomplish its tasks.

As Serade is called upon to create files it creates directory structures as needed, and can be configured with separate sand boxed directories for unpublished / uncompiled applications, published files or compiled applications, data used by templates, and has a separate root sand box to allow for the organizations and storage of anything else the system might need like commonly used templates, or special sub directories for other needs.

Because of it's simple and elegant design Serade can be used easily for tasks ranging from something as basic as making it easier to generate a single HTML page based on a design template, to something as complicated as publishing an entire website including all the HTML pages, CSS and JavaScript files, generating applications and compiling them, generating any needed system configuration or password files, etc.

Serade can generate an entire software product line based on a single template which then gives you the ability to easily make a modification and have applied across the entire product line.
